OD/ID Grinding

The main advantage of CNC OD/ID grinding is the ability to perform multiple operations in one chucking. We can grind an unlimited number of OD’s on a stepped shaft and also grind tapers or ID’s by indexing the wheel head in the same operation. This allows for extreme tolerances for concentricity and run out.

Our OD Grinders provide automated repeatability, in process gauging, and automated angle head and straight approach head capabilities to ensure results that are of a consistent high quality and uniform gauge. Our ID Grinders provide multi-axis CNC control to ensure results that are consistent in roundness, cylindricity and size.

We can grind outside diameters on parts up to 12” diameter and 40” long. Diameter tolerances as close as .0002”, and surface finishes to 8 Micro. We can grind inside diameters of parts up to 12” diameter and 10” long. Diameter tolerances as close as .0003 and surface finishes to 8 Micro.
